Delicious, fresh food and nice staff!

Good food, not greasy. Very good service; especially since we stopped in 20 minutes before closing (when many places would be unfriendly, or try to rush you out).

Tried this diner on vacation glad I stopped. The owner was present and making conversation with the patrons. Staff was excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to come back. Highly recommend.

Today was Friday Fish Fry. I was not disappointed! The haddock was fresh and flaky and the batter was light & crispy. It came with 6 good-sized pieces of haddock, fries and fresh cole slaw. The waitress was amazing all by herself. She was very busy but still helpful and friendly. The owner, Scott, and his wife were there with friends for the fish fry. They were extremely friendly and spoke with our group until our food arrived. I highly recommend it! The gift/candy shop next door is with a visit too. Especially if you have a sweet tooth. They had everything! The owner, I think, waited on us and she was friendly and helpful too.

Fantastic chili, quick service, clean establishment.

Nice old style Diner, very clean very comfortable. The wait staff was more than Pleasant. I ordered the Vegetarian Delight and oh my God! It was delicious. Highly recommended. It's a new item on the menu and I had to give it a try. Very glad that I did!

Go for pancakes, I think. I'm giving this place four stars despite not enjoying the food because the service was delightful, and we plan on going back to try the pancakes, which what seemed like everyone but us was eating. We were the idiots with the eggs and toast. My sunnyside-up eggs were the most bizarrely rubbery things ever, like they were being preserved for a display case. When I broke the yolks, they didn't run, and stuck to the toast when I went for a dip. My husband enjoyed his omelet, but the home fries were mushy, and neither his wheat toast nor my rye were any good. The veggie home fries were a welcome take on the standard; if the potatoes had been a little crisp, the dish could have stood on its own as a nice breakfast. The candy/gift shop is a treat. Don't go in if your every day is a losing battle with a sweet tooth - there's something for every shade of candy perversion.

I grew up going here I've been going there for about 25 years. The food is still amazing, the prices are still right. The amount of nostalgia when walking in there is absolutely amazing. I went in on my way to my wedding. and brought my boyfriend for the first time he absolutely loved it. I got the stuffed portobello and oh my God was that good! I will definitely be back anytime I'm in the area. and honestly it just makes me happy to know that one of these small places has lasted for as long as it has. I have so many memories in Wakefield and I'm so glad there's at least one I can still reminisce on.

Great place to stop and eat. Staff are friendly and quick to serve. Food is always delectable.

Stopped in while passing through at 1:30 in the afternoon. I had breakfast and it was great. Husband got 2 grilled hot dogs, he said they were Fair and I think they were a little overpriced they were $10. Went into the candy store and that was awesome very clean and got some gummies. You can purchase chocolate or candies by the pond some local gift items.

As always, the portions were just right, everything was cooked just right, and the staff was fantastic

Great breakfast/brunch at a decent price. Anything with the corned beef hash is highly recommend. Bring cash if you want to pay the menu prices, there is a credit card surcharge. Can accommodate food allergies if you ask nicely.

Great lunch...so good to feel normal

Tried a Friday night. And it was an epic fail. One waitress on duty, full restaurant and people waiting. We waited 25 minutes for a table to be cleared off, and she was too busy to bus her own tables, take orders, run orders and take payment. My recommendation: stick to what you're good at - breakfast and lunch. You're out of your league for dinners. We left, irritated and hungry after 35 minutes.

It's been a while since I hit a real diner, and this is one of them. I ordered my go to, which I do when it's on the menu, biscuits and gravy, two over easy, home fries. The first bite told me all I needed to know. The gravy wasn't like library paste, and the biscuits were like clouds. A nice herbal flavor was infused into the gravy, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the potatoes were a bit crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My biggest knock on the meal was that I'd have liked the potatoes to have been a bit more crispy, but I couldn't find anything else to take issue with. From the overall seasoning of the dish, to service and cleanliness, Miss Wakefield's Diner is now on my official go-to list. Oh. I had a chance to go back two days later, so I did. Chicken fried steak. Perfect, crunchy gravy covered goodness... my only advice: Go. Now. You won't be disappointed.

We have been by it many times but never tried it out. We corrected that yesterday. The food was great and the service was very good. We will be going back for sure.

Good breakfast food! Occasional long wait times during prime time but that's the same for most local breakfast places, especially during the summer. Great bulk candy selection. The jars have a gaskets that keep the candy fresher than other bulk candy places. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend stopping here!

The NICEST possible diner experience thanks to some truly wonderful people. Another car smashed into ours right by this diner on route 16. We had to wait with 4 little kids through the long process of having our car towed and getting a rental car to drive home. These lovely people all took us in, let us stay even after they closed so we could wait comfortably, found small toys for the kids, even offered to drive us the 2 hours home if the minivan rental didn’t work out. Also, we ordered lunch while we waited and the food was great. The kids all loved it. Service was just so genuinely nice you’d think you walked into a small town in 1950. And to top it all off a regular customer we didn’t even see paid for our lunch (I don’t know who you are, but THANK YOU)! All of you made an otherwise pretty bad day infinitely better and made us truly grateful for the kindness in this world. Thanks again and happy holidays!!!

Have driven by for decades and wished I'd stopped years ago. Food was delicious, price reasonable and servings huge. Server was top notch.

Old-fashioned "Diner" complete with quick service, friendly staff. I visit once a year when I'm closing my friend's camp. I'd go more often if I lived close.

Fast friendly service with good portions. Old fashioned diner. A somewhat limited menu and a bit over priced but I must say the chicken fried steak was excellent. Was disappointed with the side a beans tasted like it was from a can.

Visited Miss Wakefield a few weeks ago. This is what a Diner used to look like. It was a step back in time. An old fashioned Diner with counter seats and booths. Great Service and good traditional Diner food in a spotless environment.
